medisun daylight 9000 is an innovative light therapy system for the painless exposure of the photodynamic therapy (PDT) with a real daylight spectrum (400 to 800 nm) from an LED light source. The main indications are actinic keratoses in which a steady increase is reported worldwide. Actinic keratoses are a precursor of skin cancer, which is usually due to excessive sun exposure during the course of life, eg in outdoor professions. For this reason, professional associations have recognized actinic keratosis as a professional disease for many professions. In natural sunlight, the actual irradiance and spectral composition depends on some uncontrollable factors, such as season, time of day, temperature, altitude above sea level, geographic location, weather conditions.
